Ayurveda is an ancient Indian Medicine with over 5000 years of history. Ayurveda is a holistic science

which believes that life originated from five essential elements of nature. These 5 natural elements

i.e Earth, Water, Fire, Air and space combine and form 3 different Doshas in body which are meant

to be responsible for creating health and disease. When 3 doshas called Vata (Space+air) Pitta

(Fire+water) and Kapha (Water+Earth) are in their natural state they cause health in a person. If

these three doshas are in imblance they cause disease.

So, Ayurveda describes any disease as an imbalance of these 3 vital doshas which occur in each and

every individual in different ratios. Diagnosis of any disease is made basing on this vital factor.

Consider these 3 doshas as a genome which gives us particular characteristics for every individual

but all of us contain same number of chromosomes. Each dosha causes different physical and

emotional characteristics of a particular individual.

Let me give you an example: A person who is natural Kapha dominant gain weight easily and a

person who is natural vata don't put on weight that easily even though they eat! We see these

kind of people in our day to day life everywhere!

Any disease or syndrome you name it! According to Ayurveda food and lifestyle are part of

pathogenesis that lead to a disease. That’s why we emphasize on following a food chart and we

advise life style changes in treatment plan.
